Physical Description[]
Beckett is a human male standing at 5'11" and weighing in at 165 pounds. He originally had a shaved head (chestnut brown), and later shaved it to become fully bald. He has a face full of freckles with narrow eyebrows and deep, chocolate brown eyes. As a result of an injury sustained during the bombing of Tina Donovan's funeral, Beckett can sometimes be seen wearing an eye patch over his right eye, which sustained heavy lacerations due to shrapnel. His eye has been restored to a relatively normal state, though on 'bad days' it becomes irritated and bloodshot, requiring that he wear the patch for comfort.
He recently went back to his former hairstyle of a close shave after getting a bit lazier with his routine.
Early Life (1996-2017)[]
Beckett spent his early childhood and much of his young adult life in Leonida. Growing up, Beckett was what the locals would refer to as a troubled youth. He spent much of his formative years following after those he viewed as 'cool' or intimidating and trying to learn to be more like them, given his inherent lack of confidence at the time. This nature of being a 'follower' caused him to often be put upon as the 'fall guy' for various schemes and plans of the local neighborhood bullies. For fear of reprisal, Beckett never ratted them out. His parents, seeing no alternative given his lack of cooperation, elected to have him sent to military school to straighten him out.
While in military school, Beckett found himself the subject of many beatings and further abuse, leading to an almost non-existent sense of self worth. This negative experience was offset by his courses in psychology and sociology taken both in military school and later in college, which was the focus of his studies. He learned through his time in education to utilize emotional and psychological manipulation to control or pacify others, which would later become useful in his day-to-day police work.
Entry into Law Enforcement (2017-2022)[]
After first completing military school and later higher education, he signed up to become a member of the Leonida Highway Patrol (LHP). He was appointed to the rank of Trooper, and later Senior Trooper with a specialty in conducting suspect interviews and interrogation. Given Beckett's job as a trooper, most of his work was traffic detail, which he excelled at.
During his career with the LHP, he received certifications for the LHP Motor Unit, the LHP Air Services Unit (ASU), and the LHP K9 Unit (alongside his K9 partner Nightmare).
Much of Beckett's career with the LHP remained peaceful, with only the occasional suspect resisting, attempting to run, or fight. This changed near the end of his tenure with the department. He responded to a bar fight in progress at a local bar called the High Point Bar, in hopes of assisting VCPD officers already on scene. As he arrived and entered the premises, Beckett was struck on the head with a bar stool and knocked unconscious. When he awoke in the hospital weeks later, he found himself suffering from a rare, confusing, and unique issue concerning memory problems and, more importantly, an apparent split personality disorder.
With his condition, Beckett is known to alternate between his normal behavior (stern if a bit sarcastic and standoffish) and a seemingly childlike, gullible persona reflecting back to his time as a troubled youth. Both personalities are distinguished by changes in the inflection of his voice, with his 'childlike' persona being softer and higher pitched, even confused-sounding.
As a result of the injury and his condition, Beckett was determined unfit for patrol duties by the LHP. This left Beckett heartbroken, as law enforcement was his chosen 'career for life'. Beckett went through roughly 8 months of medical procedures and treatments to become more stable with medication, allowing him to more easily retain memories between 'switches' in his personalities, but still being subject to the whims of his brain in alternating between them. After speaking with a judge in Leonida, Beckett's medical history was sealed and he was deemed 'safe' for the time being.
Move to San Andreas, Joining BCSO, and Marriage (2022-2024)[]
Beckett made a move out of state, going from Leonida to San Andreas, where he applied to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office in 2022, being passed in interview by Tina Donovan. Beckett was hired on as a Deputy and eventually moved up to Senior Deputy prior to the state's collapse at the end of 2022 due to the hacker attack.
After the collapse of the state, like many, Beckett fled the state for his own safety. He spent two years living as a resident on a massive blimp that made several trips over San Andreas to survey the condition of the state. During his time living on the blimp, Beckett met a woman named Mindy Salinas, whom he fell in love with during the early days of their time on the blimp together. She shared with him many of her struggles, chiefly among them being a crippling anthrophobia and difficulty socializing.
The two eventually entered into a relationship and soon enough were married while still aboard the blimp (thankfully there was an ordained minister among the residents of the blimp). Mindy changed her name to Mindy Beckett as a result of the marriage. As San Andreas returned to normal, Beckett proclaimed to Mindy that he felt a need to get back into law enforcement to prove himself capable again, and she agreed. He purchased a residence in Paleto Bay for the two of them before moving on and getting rehired, this time with the LSPD.
Promotion to NCO and Return to BCSO (2024-2025)[]
Beckett's aggression, assertiveness, and disciplinarian side (normally suppressed) came out in full force once he was elevated to a position of authority within the LSPD, and then BCSO. This is typically expressed through enthusiasm for PT (physical training), which throughout his time in military school and state police academy he was driven to a near-psychotic obsession with. For minor offenses, disrespects, public foolishness, or what he perceives as 'degeneracy', he will typically require the subject of his penalties to perform pushups or situps as recompense.
After the reformation of the BCSO on 13th of May, 2025, Beckett was appointed as a Sergeant of the new department under Sheriff LeAnn Cassidy. Throughout this transitional period he maintained an unshaken internal sense of loyalty toward the Sheriff and her goals within the department, primarily due to loyalty, and returning shows of loyalty being one of his core tenants.
This loyalty was shaken, however, due to a near-deadly shooting that occurred on the 10th of June, 2025. He was severely injured while attempting to aid with a rescue mission to save Sheriff Cassidy, Assistant Chief Pike, and Crocodile Steve. He was put into the ICU as a result of this event, and when he awoke and realized the situation, he began to harbor a secret and growing contempt for the Sheriff due to what he saw as carelessness or negligence on her part. This was driven largely by a concern not for himself, but for his wife Mindy and her various conditions that would render her unable to care for herself if he were to pass away. He expressed these frustrations in secret to a close friend, and no one else, opting to keep his contempt entirely hidden.

- Beckett once engaged in a fist fight with a man-sized rat that had crawled out of a sewer while on his way to the first shift change meeting of LSPD in the reformed state.
- When Beckett drives a police cruiser, it typically only has the driver's side spotlight up. This is because he so often drives without a partner.
- Beckett was once stabbed in the stomach for refusing to shoot a bird that had attacked someone.
- Beckett HATES pineapple on pizza, and insists that anyone who claims to like it is just trying to be different.
- Beckett was once referred to as 'forever officer' by a member of high command. He still has a chip on his shoulder about this.
- Beckett considered Tina Donovan his hero. He never got to tell her this while she was alive.
- Beckett has a strong contempt for the BBMC, MSR, and ESB gangs, mostly due to their established history of violence toward police.
- Beckett always refers to Alexandra Khodemchuk as 'Hardunkachud'. He refuses to call her by her proper name outside of official reports and hearings.
- Beckett goes by the nickname 'Bucket', given to him due to the fact that he often times rides a police motorbike and wears a motor helmet (often referred to as a bucket).
